A hopper feeder remains a proven solution for automating the feeding of a wide range of fiber types with different staple lengths and fineness. It is characterized by high precision and reliability.

Unlike the manual loading of the carder, the feeder ensures an automatic and continuous process.

AUTOMATIC FEEDER

The Ramella automatic feeder consists of a large loading area, two dosing rollers, an electronic weighing system, and a carder feeding belt.

The operator places the fibers in the loading area. The dosing system lifts and distributes the fibers evenly on the spiked conveyor, delivering the fiber to the weighing container.
A special rotating comb discharges the fibers onto the scale, after which, at the right time, the fibers, precisely weighed, are released onto the carder conveyor belt.

PRECISE WEIGHING SYSTEM

The electronic weighing system has a precision of 2 grams (0.07 oz) and is equipped with a totally independent pneumatic opening mechanism.
The structure that supports the hopper is separate from the machine and is mounted on soft supports that minimize external vibrations.

The functional components are made of aluminum and stainless steel to ensure reliability and durability over time.
Lastly, the independent structure allows for easier cleaning and more precise positioning.

TOTAL COMPATIBILITY AND FLEXIBILITY

The automatic feeder is compatible with all Ramella carders, even those produced in the past.
The feeder’s electrical panel can be connected to the electrical panel of a Ramella carder or remain independent in case it is used with carders from other manufacturers.

The large space between the feeder and the carder allows the system to be fed manually for times when loading small quantities of fiber may be necessary.
The union of 3 independent machines (feeder, carder and can coiler) has been designed to allow customers to configure the system according to their needs.

HOPPER SYSTEM WITH ELECTRONIC CONTROL

The hopper weighing system allows a real and precise measurement of the weight of the fibers sent to the carding machine.
Unlike volumetric loaders, this system is characterized by extreme flexibility and the possibility of being used with many types of fibers.

The control device automatically adapts the speed of the motors relative to the set weight in order to guarantee absolute precision.
An additional verification system corrects any errors in order to have uniform loading over time.

QUICK CLEANING, EASY TO USE

The Ramella automatic feeder has been designed to be easy to use and quick to clean.
The fiber loading area is mounted on an independent trolley cart, and this allows for quick cleaning of the spiked lattice.

The motors and chain drives are protected by a large transparent window that ensures quick control and easy access.
The cleaning cycle invented by us minimizes the risk of fibers wrapped around the rollers.

ELECTRIC PANEL

The automatic feeder is equipped with an independent electrical panel that controls the movement of the motors, the measured weight, and the pneumatic opening of the hopper.
The system can be kept independent or easily coupled with the carding machine to create a single automatic and synchronized system.

Using a touchscreen, it is possible to easily set the hourly quantity of fibers sent to the carding machine and the value of the single load in the hopper.
The advanced menus allow you to optimize each parameter of the weighing cycle.
Additionally, the hourly production of the system can be monitored and the movement of the individual motors can be controlled in order to facilitate cleaning.
